There are different kind of ladyboys. Some are actually just transgender types who are often very confused about their identity. They might be born male, but somewhere along the line start identifying as female. They start taking estrogen pills and get surgical procedures to look more female. They don't generally start out as thieves, but figure out sooner than later that working as a prostitute is the best route to where they want to be. They might also figure that the type of person who goes for their services is often drunk and 5 minutes from passing out, many can't help taking advantage of that.
There are also those who have figured that it's easier to rob a drunk guy at 3 AM if they dress up like a lady.
