Phnom Penh:A 22 year old Cambodian woman working as a karaoke girl at KTV The Dream Karaoke in Phnom Penh has accused the manager of rape and assault.
The suspect named Ponluk, 28 years old, has since been fired.

On the day of the incident, the suspect came to the KTV as a guest with some other friends. The group started drinking at 10 AM, and got through 7 cases of beer. Later on, after his friends had left, Ponluk locked the door of the karaoke room, then he hit the victim and raped her. The victim cried out for help, but no one could hear her because of the music.
After that, the suspect left the KTV premises as if nothing had happened, and took a tuk tuk. When the victim came out, asking the security guard to help her, the suspect had already made his escape.

The victim has filed a complaint at the police station of Chak Angre Kroeam, and the man's friends have been questioned. The police are searching for the suspect to be punished by law.

Another source says the man has been arrested and that police say his 2 friends were not involved.
