Siem Reap: On July 16 at 8 am, tourist police arrested one of two thieves who had snatched a bag from a South Korean woman, Kim Hyemin, 32 years old, at the temple area in Siem Reap.

The two suspects rode up on a motorbike and snatched a bag from the victim, who was riding a bicycle in the temple area. The victim screamed loudly for help, alerting the nearby tourist police, who came running, chasing the suspects. The suspects fled, their motorbike fell over, and the two thieves ran off into the forest around the Angkor Wat area.

After receiving information about the robbery from the tourist police, the colonel Tep Channa, and colonel Sakdey Chamreoun led their men into the forest in search of the suspects. One of the suspects, identified as Ros Mara, 19, was arrested, and police confiscated the motorbike. The victim's bag was found in the forest close-by, where it had been discarded by the thieves.

The bag, which contained an iPhone X, a Samsung, a camera, a power bank, an umbrella and $100, was returned to the Korean woman.

The police are preparing the case for the suspect who got arrested, and are still on the lookout for the other suspect who got away.
