Wonder if he had a valid visa because that passport hasn't got long left on it.

Judging by the Employment Pass card he's been living in Singapore so may have just been on a tourist visa.

Re: Kiwi Man JANN NICHOLAS HAZLETT Dies in Phnom Penh, Cambodia Hotel
Following reported in New Zealand Media:
"Hazlett had lived in Singapore for eight years, where he was a partner in the corporate and institutional banking recruitment company Symmetry Asia.
He lived with his wife and son.
It is understood he had travelled to Phnom Penh for a weekend with friends.
His wife was travelling to the capital on Monday.
New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade was providing consular assistance to the family, a spokeswoman said.
For privacy reasons, no further information would be provided, she said.
Hazlett grew up in Invercargill, where he attended James Hargest High School.
Friends remembered him as a popular, fun, good, kind and loyal friend with a passion and talent for rugby.
He had worked hard to get where he was, one friend said.
"He was, quite simply, a class act."
Cambodian police said Hazlett died at Khavi Villa about 6.30pm Saturday local time (11.30pm Saturday NZT)."

Nick Hazlett
Fundraising campaign by Craig Michilis
Singapore, SG | Funerals & Tributes
It is with absolute sorrow that I announce the sudden death of my friend and business partner Nick Hazlett.
Nick died of a heart attack on the evening of 18th of May. He was on a weekend tour with his rugby team in Cambodia. He was 46 years old. He is survived by his beloved wife Justine and much loved son Nash who were at home in Singapore and now devastated and shocked by their sudden and immense loss.
Nick and Justine (New Zealand Citizens) have made Singapore their home since early 2011. Nick’s greatest joy was his best mate and son, Nash who they adopted in 2014. Nash turned 6 earlier this year.
My heart goes out to Justine who flew to Phnom Penh on Sunday to make arrangements to bring Nick back to Singapore. Plans for a burial or memorial service will be confirmed and updates will be posted here.
Nicks sudden passing is awful news for everyone that knows Nick, Justine, and Nash. He loved his sport, his family and friends, worked hard in his business and will be missed by many. Friends and colleagues have been asking how can I help. So here it is!
I created this campaign as a place where people can come and be updated on arrangements, where they can remember Nick, share photos, stories or words of support and love that will be shared with Justine, Nash and all of Nick's family.
To support Justine and Nash further, you may donate by clicking donate now button, please give whatever you can. All funds raised here will be used by Justine to pay the growing bills to bring Nick home and the ongoing support of his son Nash.
Please follow the page to keep updated on arrangements as they are made.
If you have any questions, you can send me a message by clicking on my name in the right hand column of this page
Thank you for all of your love and support for Justine and Nash.

its not good enough to inform that the heart attack was caused by a drug overdose. we already know that the heart attack was probably caused by od
the police should be informing on what exactly was the drug, the amount found in the body & any other foreign substances found in the body.

Great suggestions, markd. This information would be helpful in preventing users from repeating the mistakes of this poor Kiwi gentleman. RIP.
Re: Kiwi Man JANN NICHOLAS HAZLETT Dies in Phnom Penh, Cambodia Hotel
Usually when an OD is suspected then the accompanying pictures show some of the drugs used, or at least some of the paraphernalia for using the particular type. None are shown here: is that due to new police regulations or wasn't there any, were all drugs consumed, have the friends he visited Phnom Penh with possibly stated that the weekend was indeed used for a drug-fuelled trip/binge? Questions...markd wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 1:39 am its not good enough to inform that the heart attack was caused by a drug overdose. we already know that the heart attack was probably caused by od

To find out what exactly was the drug can be difficult as those using with the deceased might not be that forthcoming with that information, the drugs used are illegal so get no quality checks or any formal statement on purity. An autopsy might help discovering that, but there are not many facilities for it and the body has to be stored/cooled meanwhile, and who will pay for it. People who use drugs should use sufficient care to prevent that a strong batch of anything might kill them, or don't over-do it on a binge. Maybe he was just an occasional/recreational user where a full-time junkie would take such precautions. The obituary says he was a keen rugby player and went to PP with fellow team mates so for all we know he might have had Athletic Heart Syndrome causing the failure - instead of OD'ing on some sort of dope: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athletic_heart_syndrome
“We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.” ― Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

let me get this straight if they say it was a heart attack induced by drug abuse we doubt it, if they say it was a heart attack we assume it was drug induced?
