Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: A case of Chinese kidnapping was brought to the attention of the Cambodian authorities at the site of Tang Datong Restaurant on Russian Highway, Chong Thnal West Village, Sangkat Teuk Thla, Khan Sen Sok at 10:10 PM April 20, 2019.

According to the Chinese restaurant owner, at 6 pm on April 20, 2019, there was a group of five Chinese people who arrived in a vehicle, a black Hyundai TOP1, and the boss asked five Chinese girls to sit down to drink with them. After drinking alcohol together until 9:10 pm, the Chinese men asked the five women to go for a short walk, and then bundled them into the car and drove away.

Then at 10pm that night, the restaurant owner received a demand for money in return for the release of the five women. Initially, the owner tried to negotiate a ransom to free the women and made a first payment, but the kidnappers asked for more money and did not release the women, so at around 4am the next day, April 21, the man went to the police.

Three of the women were reported released in Kampot early this morning, but the investigation is on-going, as police are still tracking down the kidnappers and the other victims.

If I read this correctly, the hostesses are Chinese? How do they get work permits?
