"Journalist" Arrested for Stealing Police Officer's Motorbike
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On May 01, 2019, Kech Chhenchin, a 40-year-old man working as a reporter for Vireak Chey News ,was arrested for stealing a police officer's motorbike, in Prek Thleng village, Sangkat Cherng Eak, Khan Dong Kor, Phnom Penh. The victim was identified as Nou Vireak, a 31-year-old police officer at Choeung Ek police post.
The police officer had just got home from work at about 2pm, and gone inside his house when he heard the sound of his motorbike starting up. He rushed outside to see the suspect driving away on his bike. The officer then called his police team at the station to alert them to the theft, and soon afterwards the suspect was arrested on national road 5 at Srey Snom village.
The suspect was detained at the police station for questioning and case preparation following the legal procedure.
