Registration requirements are determined by the jurisdiction where you live. If you move somewhere that you don't have to register, that's not a crime.

Evil scum? Am I correct in that you're basing that opinion on that one charge that you really don't know anything about (unless you know more that you're not sharing)? Because based on that charge he's not a convicted child molester - not even close actually. He had pictures, his "crime" violated a piece of legislation. Rapists and murderers are evil scum. Someone having a few pics that we aren't even certain were child porn isn't even on the radar of evil scum. Does he have issues? Possibly. Pedo? Possibly, but as we have no idea what the actual pics are, no way to say. 10's of thousands of people are on the registry for bullshit; family photos that show their own children in the tub or swimming without their tops, peeing in the bushes along the side of a highway, preteen kids who've shown other preteen kids pics of themselves, etc... As to the registry, it's not a child sex registry, it's a sex registry. Just because someone is on it doesn't mean they've ever so much as touched a kid. This dude, he may have problems but his record is of zero concern.

He was charged with twenty counts of having photos or videos of a child engaged in sexual conduct. He was required to register because American society deems him a threat to the rest of us, someone who shouldn't be allowed near a school, someone the rest of the community should be warned about if he moves into the neighborhood.

Instead, he moved to Sihanoukville.

All "crimes" (no idea why you put that in quotes) violate a piece of legislation.

He's not a preteen kid. He didn't pee in the bushes on the side of the highway.

For the record, I feel I partially to blame for the confusion regarding John E Ecker, as his criminal history wasn't known when we published this, and was edited later to reflect everything we had dug up. We tossed the info around quite a bit behind the scenes, as the DOB reported in Khmer didn't match, but once someone else found his Facebook accounts with his birthdate that matched, it was clear we had the right guy.

Also, we put the charges in the OP as well the screenshot of the charges that Anchor Moy posted a few pages back.

So again, I apologize that you might have read it before it was all put together correctly...

So, to be fair, I wouldn't say he's a child molester, but it also seems like you're saying his charges are no big deal at all. Have you read the charges now? They sound pretty bad, and that's exactly the kind of person that has no business creeping over to Sihanoukville, Cambodia doing a methhead wakeup call where he doesn't even need to register as a sex offender or anything, and can easily get jobs teaching children.

I hope this has all been a misunderstanding, but these charges are clearly far from NO BIG DEAL.
