Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Post by Borum-Ex frm TOForum »

PPP:

The recently announced World Trade Centre Phnom Penh is the first project by a Japanese construction company in the capital’s Tuol Tompong neighbourhood.

Tuol Tompong might seem an unusual choice of location for an ambitiously-named World Trade Center, but a Japanese developer is confident its planned $65 million multi-purpose building will transform the sleepy residential neighbourhood into a vibrant hub of commercial life.

Construction on the World Trade Center Phnom Penh (WTCPP) is set to begin in April, with the 23-storey multi-use building expected to open in 2021. Designed and constructed by Japanese firms, the new complex will include office space, retail outlets and a hotel. The project will occupy a 3,375 square metre footprint, with a total floor area of 43,724 square metres.

The company behind the project, WTCPP Management Co Ltd, is a joint venture between two subsidiaries of Tokyo-based construction firm Urata Co Ltd. Another subsidiary, Urata SE (Cambodia) Co Ltd, will be in charge of construction.... continue reading here: http://phnompenhpost.com/supplements-po ... ade-center

Best of luck to you folks living out in TTP, what with the dust, noise and heavy traffic for 2-3 years, plus all the electrical and communication infrastructure that has to be laid in trenches. Oh, and the new condo apartments to be constructed and, sorry, rent hikes. To think I almost moved there last summer gives me shivers.

Great, they are bringing all that development into the area, but no one seems to think about the roads and parking that is really fucked up as it is
Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes

And Japanese girls are kinky, too. Let's not forget about that addition to the hood.
