I wonder if that's a false positive, or if he picked it up in the 72 hours after his pre-departure test...?

All these numbers are with NO mass testing inside the country. Only at the airports is mass testing carried out.

Meanwhile in places like the US, some schools are requiring all students and teachers to be tested, sports players are tested multiple times a month, etc.

Maybe there is really magic in Cambodia to preventing the virus. If there was a rigorous study, that could be extracted and applied to the world. But that will never happen.

Sad.

The new positive case is a 54-year-old British man coming from the United Kingdom via the Netherlands and South Korea. He arrived in Cambodia on Sept. 11, and was now admitted to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh.

The other multi-national passengers on the same flight tested negative for the deadly virus have been put in 14-day quarantine.

With infections on the rise in the UK and the Netherlands, and the fact you have to have your PCR test 2 days before your flight, the chances of contracting it in that 48 hour window are increasing. The world needs faster tests almost as much as a vaccine.

I'm confused many countries are supposed to be covid free, you only need 14days quarantine to be sure your covid free, countries have virtually shut thier borders for 6 months now , where are the new arrivals into countries getting thier infection before arrival. Why are there still cases . If the world has shut down for so long and 14 days is the timeframe for covid not being infected , something doesn't ad up or my maths is wrong.
Am I looking at this to simplistic

Without testing every person in the country all at once, it’s impossible to prove zero infections at any point in time.

It’s all a guess, based on numbers of people being tested.

Of course if no one is tested, then there are zero virus infections for that country.
