Siem Reap to Have a COVID-19 Testing Lab
AKP Phnom Penh, July 11, 2020 --

Siem Reap province will have a laboratory for COVID-19 testing no later than the first week of August – the move that will broaden the access in the zone, beyond the provincial boundary.

The information was shared by H.E. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health while inspecting the installation the lab recently at the province.

According to the health minister, the lab will help speed up process of COVID-19 testing for Cambodians and foreigners visiting the areas.

The second standard laboratory of Cambodia is equipped with GeneXpert recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
GeneXpert provides point-of-care option allowing hospital and clinic to perform diagnostic tests in-house, rather than sending them to outside lab.

The ministry is also planning to establish COVID-19 testing laboratory in other provinces of Cambodia as well, underlined H.E. Mam Bunheng.

The new masters need their own lab. Can’t be confused with the rest (aka us).

More relief for incoming travelers to be announced as two more cases of COVID-19 recover in Cambodia
Cambodia is expected to issue new procedures to ease the burdens of in bound travelers into Cambodia.

Health sources told Khmer Times that this included complete new procedures for current investors and their families as well as professional and technical staff of companies already registered and operating in Cambodia.

In addition, to further ease the financial burden of the $3,000 cash deposit upon arrival, the new procedures may allow a company, association or a special economic zone (SEZ) to guarantee this payment in the event a case of Covid-19 is reported on an incoming flight.

I would have thought that the requirements would have been equal for any incoming person.
It just seems so strange to possibly wave the retainer payment of $3000 because it might ease financial burden, strange words and actions, for it's those people who have the money and there going to invest largely into business in Cambodia.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

It's funny that they plan to waive the $3000 deposit for investors, of all people. For an investor, that's such a measly little amount.
