How did he get through the testing at the airport? I know they don't need a negative test prior to travel, but they are supposed to go through it at the airport. And how did they discover him 13 days later, is he sick?

French Cambodian is latest confirmed Covid-19 case in country
Sunday, 07 Jun 2020
PHNOM PENH (Xinhua): Cambodia's Ministry of Health (MoH) announced on Sunday (June 7) that one more person was tested positive for Covid-19 (coronavirus), bringing the total number of the confirmed cases in the kingdom to 126.
The new patient is a 30-year-old French-Cambodian man, who returned to the capital city Phnom Penh on May 24 from France, with a connecting flight in South Korea, the MoH said in a statement.
Upon his arrival, the man had been tested negative for the virus and then, he had gone into a 14-day self-quarantine at home, the statement added.
Doctors took his samples for the second test at the Pasteur Institute of Cambodia on the 13th day of the self-quarantine period, and the result showed on June 6 was positive, MoH's secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine said.
Currently, the man is undergoing treatment at an isolation ward in the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital, she added.

So every tourist will now have to book a hotel for 21 days in the Kingdom of Wonder? Knowing full well that at least the first days 24-48hrs in quarantine awaiting test results) will not use the paid for hotel.
If 1 passenger tests positive, the entire flight then into 14 day government quarantine. So 15-16 days of the paid for hotel reservation will be unused.
If they entire flight tests negative, stay in self quarantine at the hotel for another 14 days.
Emerge after over 2 weeks of confinement to see the Kingdom of Wonder for a day or two before heading back home.
Back home, when the neighbors ask how was the 3 week vacation, the reply will be, I enjoyed the Kingdom of Wonder for a day or two, and the inside of a hotel room for over 2 weeks. Sure the neighbors will be frothing to come to Cambodia after that.
Hope more sensible polices to attract tourists will be forthcoming.

no...where did you see that?? from my understanding you can go into your own place/apt/guesthouse after all test negative.. if test positive you put in quarantine for the 14 days... i think your confusing things.. also who gives a fuck what your neighbors think... i know your just saying that to increase the quality of your scenario ..lol. i am sure your neighbors dont know wht you really do when your in cambodia anyway.. lol
Manhattan keeps on making it, Brooklyn keeps on taking it

Simple spend your 3 week holiday somewhere else where you don't need to quarantine eg stay home. I'm pretty sure reading most news about covid most countries prefer only citizens to return home and are closed for tourist to stop covid coming into their country.
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.

You say eg stay home. Isn't the man trying to come see his wife he's been away from long time? Not normal holiday seeker looking for an exotic Asian vacation

I'm starting to wonder if it would be easier to visit Cambodian wife or girlfriend in neighboring country when the smoke clears soon. Maybe holiday indo Vietnam, ect. Other countries changing rules often... It might come down to a 30 day holiday in neighboring country or a massive quarantine/hassle Cambodia. Not practical but maybenewkidontheblock wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 2:30 am So every tourist will now have to book a hotel for 21 days in the Kingdom of Wonder?
