Information on Coronavirus / COVID-19 in Cambodia (Latest Updates December 2021)

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodian government gets a bad rap in most media but they deserve a lot a good press on thier covid handling, for a small country relatively poor they are looking after thier people and visitor extremely well. :Bravo:

Best to ask the 100 plus Cambodian workers who are stranded in Malaysia with no jobs and have no help from their Embassy in arranging flights back to home in Cambodia.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

they are not alone, people from all counties are stranded unable to return home, with little or no help from embassies.

are they still going to foot the bill for every passenger testing and quarantine that arrives ?
Plus the 100 from the other day?

i cant see how they can,,,,,,
Health Minister Mam Bun Heng said yesterday that from now on Cambodia will be enforcing a strict mandatory 14-day quarantine for all passengers flying into the Kingdom. He made the announcement early yesterday morning while monitoring virus prevention measures at the Phnom Penh International Airport as two flights from South Korea landed.

He said that the flight contained a variety of nationalities, including Cambodian, Korean, Iraqi, French, and Americans, adding that the 106 passengers who arrived on the flights will now be put into mandatory quarantine to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Cambodia. The mandatory measures come after Cambodia identified two new cases of COVID-19, with both passengers who tested positive departing from the United States but one via the Philippines and one via South Korea, bringing the total number of cases in the Kingdom to 124.

This quarantine thing is Really shitty for travelers. Not just the part where you sit in a room for 14 days, but you have zero possibility for refund on your fucked "vacation" that you booked six months-a year ago. The airline isn't going to refund tickets for sure, because flights are still flying in, but you get fucked out of your vacation because you can't go anywhere once you get here. You just get to waste more money in a shitty hotel room. Damn. I'd be pissed.
Do you think the parents of baby boomers whined so much when the boomers started changing society? And yet the whiney ones like to call young people "snowflakes." Hmm...

Last I checked, quite a few airlines will let you change your ticket to a later travel date free of charge. The quarantines can't go on forever, so take your holiday later when things settle down.
Yes, it's tough for everyone, and a lot of people will not be taking holidays at all this year.

I had close to $AUD1000 refunded by Air Asia for numerous flights I'd booked throughout the region for six months of this year. Admittedly, I had to get my bank engaged in "dispute" action, but I received the money within 30 days of my claim being initiated.
