Illegal plantation of 12,000 marijuana plants discovered in Takeo

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

they could make an enormous amount of money from this sunrise industry if they get in early on export for legit medicinal use.
the tourist demographic would suffer a further degradation of epidemic dreads and elephant pants though.
Food sales would go up, though.

Maybe various organizations have already bought them out of that industry, I'm guessing.

It's harmless and beneficial to the locals, though. Young people are already sabay enough to take marijuana, so they won't be affected.

I hear Canada is raking it in.

Would make for some poetic justice to see a pic of John Kerry or Bob Dylan puffin' on some true Cambodian green, smilin' and thinkin' of the old days ...

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.

Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

by kinds i guess you mean varieties. there is one kind- the kind that you make clothes and rope out of.
strong rope, not very strong medicine.

indoor here?

highly doubt it.

some ppl grow it to feed to pigs- they say it makes them eat more and grow faster.
the cops tell them to stop, so they do.
sign a contract and all.

i think it is still pretty commonly used in the countryside though.
young people don't want any part of it- it is seen as an "old man" thing- medicine.

The electrical bill would be huge for an indoor room. Which might explain the $21 a gram price of some of the better quality stuff around.

leds are the way to go
LED’s produce much more light per watt than fluorescent or HID lighting. This also means that they run cooler, reducing electricity costs as well as the risk of fire in your grow room. Most LED grow lights come with small fans built in, and do not require additional ventilation except in special circumstances. Another bonus is that they do not require ballasts. Overall, LEDs return much higher yields for lower levels of electricity(and money!) consumed.

Thank you ! My knowledge is outdated, I didn't know that they use LED to grow Christmas trees now :-)

Is it more expensive to buy than standard light with ballast ?

No! It's low cost to buy and run the little blue and reds.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
