Husband caught wife having sex with other man in the guest house and reported to police to arrest them

Siem Reap: A woman identified herself as a bank staff in oddormeanchay province and said she was not happy. So, she left her husband and daughter to Siem Reap. She was partying and drinking in Siem Reap then she forgot that she had husband and daughter. She called her boyfriend to sleep in the guest house then caught by her husband. They later were arrested by the police after the husband reported it.
Unfortunately her lover successfully fled the scene as he was cheating the police that he wanted to buy drinking water.

This incident occurred around 8:00 am in the morning on 08/ March/ 2015 at group number 2, Wat Bo village, Salakamreak commune, Siem Reap city, Siem Reap province. Lieutenant Noun SakChamrounrith told koh Santepheap news that after we received the report from the husband. We went to the guest house called Prom Roth Inn ( ព្រហ្មរត្ម័អ៊ីន) and when we entered the room # 101, we saw them both were lying in the room.

He ( Lieutenant Noun Sak Chamrounrith) added, after having seen the evident, we brought them both to the police station in Salakamreak commune for questioning. According to the Lieutenant, the lover names Thon Sokiri, 26 years old, employment (unspecified). He is from Battombong, but recently he is living in oddormenachay. The woman that had been arrested names.................. (ព ស ហ), bank staff and living in Somrong city, Oddormeanchay province.

The husband names Chin Sokkun, male, 26 years old, policeman. He is living with his wife and 2 years old kids. After the questioning, they both have compromised.

The husband added, his wife always used this excuse to flee from the house for many times. She accused me of cheating her. Then, on 07/ March/ 2015 when she was joining her friend's birthday in Siem Reap Province, my friend called me that he saw someone brought my wife to a guest house. So I came all the way from Oddormeanchay to Siem Reap and reported to the police.

The wife said, it was not her fault. It happened because her husband cheated on her, so she was upset and did it. At last, she apologized her husband in order to finish it.

So what's the crime? Note the husband is a cop.

Adultery is a crime here.

I didn't know that, so I googled it. The latest reference I could find was an article in the PPP from 2010. Apparently it was introduced in 2006 as a political move so the cpp could prosecute ranariddh, but nobody has ever actually gone to prison under it (at least as of 2010). The article noted that the penal codes from 2010 on no longer contain a monogamy law, and suggested that any enforcement of it would be illegal (for all that matters). What a strange law... learn something new everyday.

If people went to prison for adultery, I think the prison population would be 3 million or so. Can't we find any better pictures of her? And damn... It's a small country when someone recognizes you in a different city.

It does seem odd to blur her face but not his. As ridiculous as I think this law is, wouldn't he be the "victim" and thus more worthy of having his face blurred? Also, I love the first pic of the "crime scene."

For Cambodia culture, this is really serious. Some cases end up worse. i.e, they might have to divorce or the husband might have killed both his wife and her lover. However this case has an happy ending at the end. They eventually got back together and continue their couple life. It is really hard to find such an easy going and forgiving Cambodian guy when it comes to such case.

Cheater is still cheater! Cheat is not acceptable. I don't understand how can they live without trust each other?

But is it illegal for the husband to cheat on his wife? I doubt it is and would be hard pressed if it is that the police actually do anything.

I agree it's a small country lol don't believe your local significant other doesn't have eyes everywhere lol.

Sometimes there is trust but people make stupid decisions. A lot of times, alcohol plays a role. Or other substances.
