There's an awful lot of these reports of people burning down their house to spite their face.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

So the guy allegedly defending himself after getting ripped off/ attacked by a tuk tuk driver is a danger for society but locals randomly burning down their properties or throwing rocks a car windows aren't?

Whatever slight influence us foreigners might have on other foreigners is negligible, we come from disparate backgrounds but can try.
When it comes to locals, especially out in the boonies, there is no reasoning, it's bandit country, best left well alone.

Fighting with the locals is a sure recipe for a) A good kicking (if lucky) b) Fines and lockup even if in the right c) Front page news.
Watching locals burn down properties and throw rocks is a matter for the locals - any dangers to society usually get swarmed.
