I'm glad you updated us, I don't like to think that these lost people just died or disappeared without anyone noticing or caring. Is he doing okay now?

Honestly, I don't know right now. I spoke to the police a couple of years ago- he was in Glasgow. He was arrested and 'escorted' back. They tried to sort him a place etc and treatment/ he absconded. I had a hand in him coming back (which he must didn't want). He's not been in touch directly with me since he realised I had been approached by the foreign office. The call from the police was the last I heard. If anyone else knows anything feel free to email me.

The people who made the fuss about 'helping' him- resulted in the Cambodian police dumping him over the border into Thailand where he was swiftly jailed for being there illegally. Then sent back

Well to be fair it's likely he'll get far more help in the UK, if he had stayed here he wouldn't have lasted. We dream about having something like the NHS here. If you are a foreigner or local, health services are generally very poor here and if you get jailed/ hospitalized you either need to have plenty of money to get better/ private treatment or have someone local helping you - or you will just die. There are no real safety nets here - you have to sort nearly everything out yourself.
