Re: Homeless Scotsman in Siem Reap GARY MORENO Makes The News When Tourists Try To Help
I have a theory that Gary Moreno's real name is Gary Brown, from Glasgow, Scotland. I'll post something to backup my claim in a bit, although it could be a bit of a reach...

Ok, so I see an armchair detective on Facebook already connected the dots before me, so here is his posts:
"Stumbled upon this last night, in the video he writes an email address on a piece of paper, which is connected to the facebook account of a Gary Brown from Glasgow. we have contacted the 2 people on his friend list to try find out if it's the same person"
Here is the video of a very confused Gary Mereno being interviewed by Cambodians, where it sounds like he's saying he wants to sell his jeep, and then use that money to buy a ticket home, but I think we all know he didn't even want to go home then:

He uses the email on his "for sale" posters.
Some say he could be Peter McGuire, who went missing in Scotland in 1993:

In the link they also say the missing man suffers from epilepsy.

Never too warm for us, today was the coldest day I've experienced in many a year due to this incoming Vietnam storm, but I didn't have to break through the ice before I went for a swim in the pool, cptrelentless wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2017 3:12 pmIt's a bit warm here for the Scots, they mostly move to Canada or New Zealandvladimir wrote:No offence to the Scots on here, but most would prefer to be in Cambodia down and out than in Scotland.

kay, my take on the video and understanding what he's saying. He's obviously had a few beers and is a bit pissed, the girl asks does he have a home in England and want to go home, of course he doesn't he's Scottish his home is not in England. He clearly says he'd like to go home if he can sell his jeep to fund it, no misunderstanding.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 7:20 pm Ok, so I see an armchair detective on Facebook already connected the dots before me, so here is his posts:

Trapper says he knows him but unfortunately given Trapper's past posting history, self proclaimed lifestyle and advice given a few posts up, his sanity must be questioned.
Those that have detailed first hand knowledge of Gary's medical condition should be listened to and I'd like to think that the reaction shown back home shows a compassionate country that can still pull a few strings to help an individual in need.

Some relatives have been identified in Scotland, but they have yet to be found and asked if they will take responsibility for Gary's financial needs.

It's getting clearer. In Spanish 'moreno' means brown. Someone mentioned he used to live in Mexico. So Gary Brown becomes Gary Moreno....
(not sure where McGuire comes into it though!)

It seems that Gary was robbed by a TukTuk driver in Siem Reap, and of course, a Cambodian on social media is trying to raise funds for him to get home (although we all know he has no intentions of getting "home").

Where's the Popeye tattoo and the cross on his knuckle?
Melvin Udall: Never, never, interrupt me, okay?
Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.
Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.
