One of my students was 5 mins late to her first class on Monday. Turns out she went to the hospital before school at 6am with a fever and a cough. They never tested her for coronavirus, told her it was a cold and sent her on her way. At 7:35am when she arrived and I found out, I sent her home and she did not return yesterday.
Same Monday, same class, at the end of the 50 min class, a second student showed up late. Appears her sister had the same symptoms and the hospital also never tested her for coronavirus. That student did not come to school yesterday.
That Monday morning on the way to school, I passed a decently dressed man with his wife/gf/some female on the back of his moto. By her clothing I speculated she was on her way to work. They were parked along a side walk while he was throwing up.

They are not testing ppl here. It is here. Be careful.
Still hunting for opium paraphernalia.

It sure looks like that's the case. Do cruise ship air-cons have HEPA filters? Maybe not. I also don't know who's preparing their food. The (possibly infected) crew? A lot will be learned from this "experiment", but what an ordeal for those onboard!

On Monday, Mr. HE announced yet another publicity stunt: He wants to invite the passengers of the Westerdam to a party.

Masks won’t be welcome.

Devil's advocate here, an average student in the US showing up at a doc with a fever and a cough won't be tested as well.

Kammekor wrote: Mon Feb 17, 2020 9:58 am I think the question is: were they infected when quarantined, or did they become symptomatic while quarantined? AFAIK they only tested the symptomatic ones, and nearly 30% of the people tested has shown positive.

On the other hand, if I were locked on the ship I would probably be symptomatic to, if not because of the virus it would be because of the anxiety.
The last update was that more and more passengers are testing positive every day, which would indicate the condition is spreading on the ship.
The ship docked in Sihanoukville? Or are you referring to the ship docked in Japan?

85% of people have a mild case, 5% it's serious, 1% it kills you. Unless you're Chinese, then you're fucked. Pooh Bear will fuck your shit up.

You put masks on the sick, not the well. Look at the bus full of English victims travelling to Liverpool. They all had masks on, the bus driver had notthing.

BBC had a short clip that they crew did, them dancing and playing aorund, they have been hard at work but seem to have kept their humor thru this all.
seems now after the 14 days is up, ( today) they need spend another 14 days in quarantine>>
Interviewed a US lady on the flight back tote US, that said she was standing next to a lady on the plane waiting in line for the toilet, that was being told she had it!!! and she was than taking off to wait in the "tent"they had onboard the plane for those infected.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Cambodia's Coronavirus Complacency May Exact a Global Toll

https://www.yahoo.com/news/cambodias-co ... 35154.html

SIHANOUKVILLE, Cambodia — When Cambodia’s prime minister greeted passengers on a cruise ship amid a coronavirus scare on Valentine’s Day, embraces were the order of the day. Protective masks were not.

Not only did Prime Minister HE not wear one, assured that the ship was virus-free, his bodyguards ordered people who had donned masks to take them off. The next day, the U.S. ambassador to Cambodia, W. Patrick Murphy, who brought his own family to greet the passengers streaming off the ship, also went maskless.

“We are very, very grateful that Cambodia has opened literally its ports and doors to people in need,” Murphy said.

But after hundreds of passengers had disembarked, one later tested positive for the coronavirus. Now, health officials worry that what Cambodia opened its doors to was the outbreak, and that the world may pay a price as passengers from the cruse ship Westerdam stream home.

Before the Westerdam docked in Sihanoukville, fearful governments in other countries had turned the ship away at five ports of call even though the cruise operator, Holland America, assured officials that the ship’s passengers had been carefully screened.

HE’s decision to allow it entry appeared to be a political calculus as much as anything else. The region’s longest-serving ruler and a close ally of China, he is known for his survival skills.

But HE’s critics worry that the aging autocrat might have acted rashly.

“Of course, he had to do the dictator thing: photo op, roses, exploit this for its maximum value,” said Sophal Ear, an expert in Cambodian politics at Occidental College. “Whatever is in the best interest of Cambodians is completely irrelevant to him.”..............
