Hit and Run: Neglectful Woman Driver Headbutts Power Pole in BMW*
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 3:00am on June 7, 2021, a neglectful female driver was seen crushing her BMW-X3 (2BG-1123) into an electric pole on st. 614, Sangkat Beoung Kok 2, Khan Toul Kork.
It seems that she was seen talking on the phone while driving, and thus lost control of her car, crashing onto the sidewalk, where the car then headbutted an electric pole.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the rather severe crash, apart from the BMW car, which suffered head wounds, and the power pole which also suffered some damage.
Following this incident, the woman ran away from the scene before the traffic police arrived. The authorities took the damaged car away awaiting for the suspect to come forward to claim her car and face charges for the damage caused.

the woman ran away from the scene before the traffic police arrived.
Abandon the car at the scene of an accident? = Forfeiture of vehicle.
It would stop overnight.
Apart from being drunk, which doesn't seem to be a problem here, the only reason to flee is to avoid the photographers at the scene and the intentionally humiliating photos at the station. All this photo-shaming serves no useful purpose and induces all to flee the scene and send in a fixer in the morning to sort out the money.
maybe this is the reason?
Re: Hit and Run: Neglectful Woman Driver Headbutts Power Pole in BMW*
People often leave the scene of 1 car accidents to get help, call daddy, go to hospital..
The police frowned on it when I did it when I was 16.. I walked home. Got my older brother and returned for my ass chewing..
I hit a neighbor's fence and paid for the damage.
Taking my VW seems harsh..
How did they know she was on the phone?

More likely the journalist just made it up.
