Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Siem reap, Cambodia News: At 11:00 am on August 19, 2019, the Siem Reap Immigration police received a foreigner sent from the Siem Reap Police Inspectorate, charged with living in the Kingdom of Cambodia illegally without a valid visa.

According to the Office of the Bureau of Investigation and Procedures, the foreign man has been identified as 73-year-old THOMAS PARSONS, a British male, who has overstayed his retirement visa since November 21, 2018. He was living in a rented room in Krous Village, Sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap.

The foreign man has hemiplegia (paralysed on one side) with high blood pressure , but nonetheless, the authorities have sent him to the Immigration office in Siem Reap to follow standard eviction procedures.

He does. I hope he has enough - Immigration detention sucks even if you're not half paralyzed.
You could be next.

For a second I thought it was Shaun Ryder.
Hope he gets home o.k. he obviously shouldn't be kept in the Immigration Detention centre.

I know and under normal circumstances I'd probably agree with them to be honest.
In this case though he will probably end up back in the U.K. and they could recoup the money from his state pension or whatever money he's entitled to.

Unless he starts to die they'll squeeze him for the full amount up front. There's no getting it on tick.
