PHOMN PENH - On 25 August at 9:30 pm, two robbers were accused and arrested for attempting to steal a handbag from a foreign tourist unsuccessfully at the corner of St. 310 and St. 57 in Sangkat Beoung Keng Kong 1, Khan Chamkar Morn.
The suspects were Lim Soksan, a 23 year-old security guard at Beoung Trobek Plaza living at Sangkat Touk Tom Poung, and Pel Chhnouldara, a 22 year-old man working as an electrician, living in the same area.

The thieves drove a Honda motorcycle with registration number 1GL-5602, but before they could make their getaway they were caught by a tuk tuk driver. Locals assisted him by beating up the two baddies while waiting for the arrival of the police.
The tuk tuk driver was rewarded with 100 000 Riel for his efforts, and the accused were taken away for questioning.

Anytime tuk tuk or motodop drivers intervene to protect their customers they deserve any reward they are given.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

I'd read that the woman defended herself admirably, and THEN the tuk-tuk driver decided to join in the fun...

Sorry Stroppy, but I don't know your source. I assume the lady passenger paid the reward and not the police who handed it to him.

A westerner who witnessed the event posted to FB about it, and stated that the western lady (who may be a crossfit, martial artist type) gave a really solid account, and even caused the two attackers to fall off the bike. It's not important though, end of the day it's a great outcome - but not for the snatchers, who deserve social justice.

Anyway, if you are saying that the western woman is the one who beat up those thieves, then respect to her. They look ba-yd. :hattip:

That's a lot less social justice than caught thieves normally get in this society. I personally don't have a problem with it - you?
