My guess is that the heat played a part. Those guys must sweat like crazy in this heat wearing that protective gear, and certain (most?) explosives are more unstable at high temperatures.

90% of the time is movement that triggers it, hv no idea what kind of landmine detonated

There is always one that may go off. Remember also that many were booby trapped with another one or two beneath to catch you out.
