Also, I don't agree with your other post above today I didn't quote, but it was a good post.
I for one very much enjoy posts/threads I don't agree with.
I never learn anything from someone I agree with on everything.
And I agree with some of it. Threads definitely need to stay somewhat on topic. However, I like a few random cat pics thrown in the mix is fine and lightens the mood.

I think people just need to be able to selectively ignore posts they find unneeded.BOFH wrote:Not looking for heavy moderation or dictatorships as you claimed. Just looking for interesting threads that do not turn into cat photo contests after two responses.
It is only a forum, you are right. In my world forums are for discussing. That's all I'm here for and that's all I'm trying to do. It feels meaningless because when my posts are already drowned by nonsense before even being written I know that nobody will actually read and respond in the same manner as I have written my post.
I'm not passive aggressive and apologise for coming off like it. It could be related to English being my third learned language.
Ok, carry on.

Re: Govt to install surveillance quipment
Old story. They love doing that. Always remember...where there is a hole in Cambodia there is also somebody peeping through.....that's why they got the holes. But as cheap surveillance techniques invade Cambodia they will find out quickly that sitting in front of a computer screen is much more comfortable and one sees much more details.General Mackevili wrote: And FYI, I did have a crazy landlord in Phnom Penh, who I caught peeping through a peep hole in my ceiling
I jumped out of bed, caught him scurrying down my wall, dumped the bucket of water from my aircon on him, got in a little fight before marching down to his family's house and raising hell.
Oh yeah, and I stayed a few more months, LoL.

Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht
In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist

Re: Govt to install surveillance quipment
but you KNOW they can SAY they heard this or saw that or trot out some kind of "proof". Just thinking they have the capacity will scare the shit out of many many people. Even the possibility that they sub it out to someone who KNOWS what they're doing is worrisome.frank lee bent wrote:those cnuts couldn't find their ass with both hands in the dark without major help
don't worry about it.
The fear of what they might do is all they need really.

re: taabarangs concern " I agree with Vlad, it is an issue of concern and clearly one of many steps backward for democracy here"
democracy will never happen in Cambodia. It's only BARELY alive in the U$A.

Re: Govt to install surveillance quipment
The article mentions they don't have the money to buy the equipment anyway.
