Cambodian women, and all women, should be free to date or have sex with whomever they want. Don't let society make you feel ashamed.

Boys and girls should both have basic education in sexual matters.
1) Cambodian women should be allowed to have boyfriends so they can learn what kind of man they want to marry one day.
2) Sex before marriage is a personal issue...as long as they are both educated enough to protect themselves from disease and pregnancy, and the girl isn't coerced. I would hope the girls wait until they are ready and not fall for the Valentine's Day nonsense.
3) I believe Khmer culture is very conservative in sexual matters. My guess is that sex is not discussed between children and parents, nor covered in schools, so the kids are left to find information from each other or the internet, which can give bad information.

I think it is taught in some schools, but not very thoroughly, and the emotional aspects of it are probably never even acknowledged.

i think this has something to deal more with family's concern. Most families don't allow their daughters to go out during night unlike boys. I can go out any time i want and enjoy my night life.

I hope in the near future you will be able to do whatever you want as guy. We are equal.

1. Yes they should, So that they can learn more about love and the person they are going to end up their live with.
2. Yes they should. If guys can bang any time they want, why can't you do it. We all have emotion.
3. Khmer culture is suck. It told the girl to maintain their virginity for their future husband while almost guys lost their virginity in the young age.

This has never happened in the kingdom. I remembered once time i discussed about sex with my classmate and they thought i was rude.

That's a good video. From the accents, I gather this is a Canadian video. In the US, many schools teach abstinence-only, meaning they do not teach students anything about safe-sex, only tell them about all the STDs, and rape, and early pregnancy, and abortion - basically the idea is to make them fear sex. My school was alright; we did learn about safe-sex, but we also learned so much about diseases. We had to look at all these slides of genitals covered in warts and shit. But maybe it worked because I'm terrified of sex without a condom.

Right this is Canadian video. In Cambodia if children asked such question. People would think that those children are rude and they might also judge or blame their parents for not disciplining them. The subject matter of sex is really sensitive. When it comes to talk about sex, people would become so shy and would never express their ideas about sex.

Thank you, everyone for your ideas. I think if the Khmer parents join this forum, they will say NO!!! We are lack of information about sex from our parents and schools. Of course I never talk to my parents. I dont know why they never talk about it and I feel too far from my parents to talk about it even though my friends.I think most Cambodian children don't know it from their parents. So what they can find the information about it is from friends and everything around them. I think parents and sex education at school is very important for tenagers to get the realizable information. I wish the parents could understand about the risky sex of their children.

Yes, I never talk to my friends too even though my best friends. i think they will think I'm a bad girl if I descuss with them. I remember when I was grad 9, we had biology lesson. It was about physical growth( our bodies change when we mature). Every female students looked down to the table because the male teacher and male students always laughed. We did hate the lesson, and sometimes we didn't dare to attend the class.
Surprised to see the kids can learn it. If Cambodian kids can learn it, I think they can know what is rape, sex...? So they can protect themselves more.
