Gino, Belgian, Owner of Bundy Bar Busted for Overstaying

The immigration police in Sihanoukville arrested a Belgian guy, the owner of Bundy Bar for illegally living in Cambodia.

Sihanoukville: According to Dep News, The general Chhoun Narin confrimed that this afternoon on 13 August 2015 the immigration police arrested a Belgian guy; name Gino, 48 years old. He is the owner of Bundy Bar locating in Group number 14, Village number 4, District number 4, and Sihanoukville city for living in Cambodia illegally. He had been found with no passport and visa. He had been overstaying in Cambodia since 2010.

General Chhoun Narin added that, according to the question, this foreigner came to Cambodia in 2008 via Poi Pet border and had been living in Sihanoukville until the arrest day.
After the arrest, this foreigner was sent to the immigration department for further legal action and will be deporting out of Cambodia.

Most expats in Sihanoukville don't have passports. During their first week in town, they sell them for meth or pledge them to rent motos that they never return.

I'm guessing he may not have a work permit either.

8 x 285, plus 8 x 100 = 2280 + 800 = 3080 plus fines/bail.

Anybody wanna buy a bar at a realistic price?

It might sound strange, but why people chose to overstaying when they actually knew the consequence. Is it because they thought some other foreigners could live in Cambodia without visa and passport then they want to follow them.

It's a lot more than that. The first year's overstay alone is $5 x 30 + $6 x 335 = $2160.
