Gino, Belgian, Owner of Bundy Bar Busted for Overstaying

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

So how long you can become Cambodian citizenship? If you have overstay visa, you need to buy it again? If you don't buy it,you will kick out of the Kingdom even you have family here?

John Bingham is right, he must pay overstay rates, had forgotten about that.
I have a stupid question. If you have a wife here, you don't need to buy visa?
There is no such thing as a marriage visa in Cambodia. If you are married there is no special treatment /visa, you still need a visa as above.
I never know about it. Sorry to here that.

It's supposed to be 7 years or something, but in reality it is almost impossible to get unless you pay a lot of money (maybe $50,000?).

Years ago I met a Khmer guy who had seen the test one is upposed to take for that, and he told me that most Khmers would fail it.

By contrast, he's seen the stuff one is required to do for citizenship in The States, and he says it's easy.

Ironically most Brits would fail the UK citizenship test... it's a test of politically correct information that most people will never need in their lives. The only useful question on the paper is "what do you do if you spill someone's pint in the pub?"
