Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

German Expat Living on the Streets HAGEN KIENZ Arrested by Cambodian Immigration

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On November 14, 2018, at 10:45 am, the Department of Investigation and Procedure (Immigration) received a 54-year-old German citizen, HAGEN KIENZ, brought from Beung Brolet police station where he had been detained for sleeping on the street in front of the German Embassy without a passport.

After questioning, the police found that HAGEN KIENZ arrived in Cambodia on April 18, 2018, through Phnom Penh International Airport. He has been living in Cambodia with no money, no job, no passport, and sleeping on the streets.
He was sent to the Department of Immigration, where his case will be processed.

He looks very similar to the latest Barang A'jai I saw recently down the Southern end of Monivong, can't be sure if it's the same guy though.

His right foot and leg are seriously swollen. Living on the streets with swelling limbs can only get worse. Getting deported might be the best thing for him.
no money, no job, no passport, and sleeping on the streets.
No future.
