The Harbour's updates about Abbey Alexander's fund raising: We are very happy to report that we raised all together $593.2.
Through these 2 fund raising events, we have been amazed by how generous our community can be... The Harbour has only been a tool to gather people in our humble house, and try to help. But really, the people we should THANK would be (and I'm sorry but I'll name them guys cuz they deserve credit)
Sage Greco who is the mastermind of the fund raising, and who initially approached me to put things together... Selfless man, and awesome person !!! Three thumbs, a wooden leg and a roller skate up for you Bro.
Giuliano Turello who happily joined the jam, but also RAISED OVER $250 on his own during his private gigs around town this week. What an amazing attitude !!!
Paul Mackie and Alli Gecikarana who hosted legendary Open Mic nights and entertained people, but also enticed the audience with their sexy moves in order to get the dollars in! You guys are legend!
Lex Roulor Tattoo Shop who put a $250 tattoo voucher for auction and sold it $100
Brin Wood who made a surprise appearence last week and rocked the boat as usual !!!
Thomas Rossetti for the great spirit and the help with practicalities. Good job man!
And more importantly: THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU GUYS WHO DONATED. You guys fu**in' rock !!! I'm sometimes disappointed with Siem reap to be honest... things change... fast... But this community spirit is worth a lot and means a lot. Cheers guys!
Abbey, get better soon

Update: Abbey Alexander has been flown to Denver in the USA in a special medical evacuation. Signs are positive that she will recover.
On August 14th, 18-year-old Abby Alexander - a Miamisburg native now living in Cambodia - was traveling on a motorbike with a fellow teacher. The pair were seriously injured when the petrol station they were riding past exploded, engulfing the two in a massive fireball. Other riders and bystanders were also injured. By late Thursday or early Friday, Abby was taken aboard a medical transport plane back to a medical facility in Denver.

From her mother:
Here’s an update on Abbey for everyone. She’s in the burn unit ICU and still on the ventilator but they are hoping to have her off it in a couple days. She has surgeries scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so they are hoping to have the ventilator tube out after those. She’s been super restless and keeps trying to leave. It’s been a battle to figure out the right cocktail of meds to keep her calm. Her nickname with the nurses is Frank the Tank . At least she’s still strong and stubborn

Positive update:
Abbey Alexander Stands Again After ‘DocLine’ Helps Get Her To Colorado
By Kathy Walsh
September 3, 2019 at 5:34 pm
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A teenager from Firestone who was badly burned in Cambodia is now breathing on her own. On Tuesday, Abbey Alexander stood up and was able to drink and eat soft foods for the first time since she was caught in an explosion.

Her parents are grateful for her care at the UCHealth Burn Center in Aurora. Abbey’s parents, Erin and Aaron, were all smiles.
“It’s been a really good two days,” said Erin.
They showed us photos of their daughter still wrapped in bandages over nearly 40% of her body, but standing up for the first time in nearly three weeks.
And on Sunday, the 18-year-old girl was finally able to breathe on her own.
Both are critical milestones in her recovery from the third degree burns she suffered when a gas station exploded as she was riding by in Cambodia.
Abbey can now drink and eat soft foods. Doctors predict she’ll be in the hospital for months. Her parents are optimistic and they are grateful that a call all the way from Cambodia got her this care in Colorado.
The bills to take care of Abbey in Cambodia and to transport her to the U.S. total around $230,000. Abbey doesn’t have insurance. The family has setup a GoFundMe to help with the cost.

Sorry for my ignorance.Username Taken wrote:^^^ "a gasoline explosion"
Yanks should learn to differentiate between gas and petrol.
What is the difference between gasoline and petrol?
I though one is American and the other is British?

It was a gas explosion. Gas as in a vapor. Not a liquid like gasoline/petrol.
You ask "What is the difference between gasoline and petrol", when I clearly stated 'gas' not 'gasoline'.
Have a nice day.

Re: Westerners Injured & Khmer Killed in Gas Station Explosion in Siem Reap, Cambodia
UPDATE
Siem Reap: The family of police officer Lieutenant Colonel Huot Mony Pisak said that so far, the situation has improved slightly but it is still difficult for both hands, ankles and head and he continues to be treated regularly at Dragon Tep Hospital. On October 10, 2019, he will go back to the Thai hospital for further examination.
The police officer's family appealed to the charities, especially the police leadership, to continue their support as the family needs more money to continue their treatment until he makes a full recovery.
Lieutenant Colonel Huot Mony Pisak also thanked his colleagues and all those donators, especially the leaders, who have provided financial support for the past medical treatment up until now.
