A group of suspects armed with knives and swords chased a young man and a woman, robbing a motorbike in Phnom Penh
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Last night, at around 10 pm on December 19, 2020, a group of suspects armed with knives and swords chased a young man and a woman, causing Injuries and hijacked a Honda Dream 2020 motorcycle with a 2021 stamp and escaped south of the gate of Wat Prey Speu along the national road No. 3 in Sangkat Kantouk, Khan Kambol.
Prior to the incident, the young man was driving a motorbike from his uncle's house around Odem with a girlfriend along National Road 3, when he found the road blocked due to a construction site and he immediately turned his motorbike around. Then suddenly, a group of nearly 10 suspects riding 4 to 5 motorbikes armed with knives came to attack, causing serious injuries, frightening him and his girlfriend. They jumped off the bike and ran away, and the suspects then took the victim's motorcycle and fled.
The victim was Yin Yen, a 26-year-old male who works as a water bottle maker in Chbar Ampov commune, Chbar Ampov district. The man's girlfriend was not named, and both were injured. As for the motorcycle that the suspects hijacked, it was a Honda Dream Series 2020 with a stamp of 2021, black, with license plate Phnom Penh 1IN 8749.
For a while now, in Kambol district, there have been frequent crimes*. People hope that Mr. Hang Mony, Kambol district police inspector, will take action against these suspects.
[*Note that Kambol district is the same area where a man was shot and killed on 17 December.

Re: Gang Armed with Knives Hijacks Motorbike in Phnom Penh
Someone told me the other day that some of the roads south of the city are bandit country after dark. I didn't really believe him but now I am not so sure.
