Frenchman Medine Emeric Philippe Killed in Kampot

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Jean

When Saïd and Chérif Kouachi attacked the Charlie Hebdo office they did so claiming their religion was disrespected.

Let that sink in

If someone asks to have something personal about him/her removed, it would just be common courtesy and the decent thing to do so, whatever the law may be.
If the same thing happens to you sometime, you would appreciate if people act with decency. It's not like these people are corrupt politicians that need to be exposed or anything.

Salut Chorlton,
No matter what the subject, do you have to bring up religion ? :please: There are threads for that or start your own.
It's not that I necessarily disagree with your opinion, but bringing everything back to religion or non-religion is OT and gets annoying for those of us who don't give a shit either way.

Back to Jean - That was a terrible accident and it's a shock to lose a friend. Different people express their grief differently and Jean is getting angry and taking it out on GM/CEO. As if removing photos will bring back his friend or make his death less painful. That's understandable.
However, threats are not cool. Jean, those photos are on the internet now, right or wrong, so pulling them from CEO won't change a thing. Also, you can hardly beat up an internet forum, so threats are silly and frustrating and a severe waste of your emotions.

Try to accept that. Sincerely sorry for your loss.

Aside from personal grief – it is hardly acceptable to post threats. The poster should be banned and his threat deleted. If such threats are acceptable where do we set the limit?
