Breaking news from Cambodia can be found here. CEO often finds Khmer news and translates it into English for our readers if it is interesting to expats, locals, Cambodians living abroad and anyone who wants to stay informed of the latest local and international news stories about Cambodia and our neighbors in South East Asia. There are many sources for Khmer news articles and they can all be found here in one place. Most of the media comes out of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville, but we cover national Cambodian news from all provinces.

Even though I don't do drugs myself, my heart always sinks a little when I see the face of someone who's just thrown their life away.
You and me both. If I'm reading his blurry passport correctly this kid was born 1992.

Funny I get the exact same feeling about people who use heavy drugs.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Looking at the package it seems to have arrived in, what a stupid game plan.

There was nothing in that package except drugs, so I'd be shocked if that shipping method works too often.

I thought people usually shipped normal looking items, and then hid drugs in it wherever they could, but that looks like one of those flat rate international express shipping envelopes that cost about $50-$100 stuffed full of nothing but MDMA/ecstasy pills.

I see what you mean. If he mailed it to himself like that then what a stupid idiot.
If someone else sent the package to him in that state t's almost like they wanted to dob him in

I'd just like to note that 400g is 0.4kg, not 4kg.

I know someone who once had a few Es and some 2CBs sent to them, sandwiched between a couple of pieces of cardboard and taped up and posted in a regular envelope. The sharp edges of the tape shredded the envelope apart, but Australia Post thoughtfully put some rubber bands around it to ensure the item arrived intact.
No matter how much it rains, the dirt never washes away.

I have a lot of items sent to Cambodia, usually numerous packages in one big box, and each and every package invariably has been opened and resealed.

Registered post items above a certain weight has the customs guys poking around in them. But I receive loads of smaller packages - maybe up to 2kg which are very, very rarely opened.

This was one of those very thin, lightweight airmail envelopes, and the corners of the tape were pointy. It wasn't a mail interception/check, it was just unfortunate (with a lucky ending at least). I think it even had a sticker apologising that the item was damaged in transit. Hilarious really.
