French Man Ordained as a Monk at Banteay Meanchey Pagoda

Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia News: On February 18, 2019, an unidentified French man was ordained as a monk at Sras Kandal pagoda, in Banteay Meanchey. The French man was overwhelmed as his greatest wish was to become a monk.

According to the chief monk, Chan Sochon, the French man loved and respected Buddhism. He often came to the pagoda to pray, so on February 18, the chief monk decided to ordain him as a monk.

The chief monk said, after allowing him to be as a monk, the Frenchman was so overwhelmed with emotion, he cried in front of many people who came to celebrate the ordination ceremony.
