French girl crushed her motor with Tuk Tuk (Updated)
Foreigner rides a motorbike without headlight and hit a Tuk Tuk and caused a 3 years old girl to fall down from the Tuk Tuk.
Phnom Penh: Two French were riding on a motorbike without headlight, and then when they reached the intersection, they hit one Tuk Tuk and caused a three years old girl to fall from the Tuk Tuk. After that she was brought to kuntha bopha hospital for medical assistance
This incident occurred around 9:30 pm on 13 May 2015 at the intersection of street 106 and 67 near Vattanak bank locate at Wat Phnom commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh.
The identity of the two foreigners was not confirmed, only known that they are French. One is male and another one is female. They were staying at a guesthouse in lakeside area (Beoung kok). They were riding black 100 CC Honda Dream with Vietnam plate number 52-F48200. The injured girl name Sok Phanmai. She is 3 years old and lives with her parents at Chroy changvar. Her father names Pov Sopeak, 35 years old. He is working at Diamond Island (Koh Pich) and her mother names Prak Phany, 34 years old. She is a factory worker at a jean making factory near Toul Sengke market.
According to the uncle of the girl, before the incident, his brother, the girl and he were on Tuk Tuk from night market along street 106 from east to west then we they reached the intersection [where the accident took place] then there was a motorbike drive by a foreigner on the street 67 from south to north hit his Tuk Tuk in the middle which caused the girl to fall down and injured her head and her face covered with blood. Later, she was brought to kuntha bopha hospital for medical assistance by bystanders.
He continued [the girl’s uncle] when the accident happened, her father was not there, so he called him to come to talk with them (foreigners). He said, after the accident many bystanders and the Tuk Tuk driver stopped them immediately and waiting the girl’s father to come to talk with them.
The girl father demanded $600 for compensation and treatment fee, but the foreigner agreed to pay only $200. They agreed with the deal, however, because they only had $80 in cash with them, so they decided to leave their motorbike with the victim family. Tomorrow they will pay the rest and take their motorbike back.
The police couldn’t do anything, because both parties had agreed with each other before they arrived.
