Haha, I'm going to assume his real girlfriend is telling us a more detailed version of events.
They are losing their shit on Facebook over it, but besides being no indication he lives there with his girlfriend, I think the article we have matches nearly 100%.
I'll post their comments here as well, because I do think they add to the story...

We can only go off what the Newspaper who covered this story says, they were there, the police said what happened. I'll suggest it is correct the only 10% bit is this woman knew him and was invited in by him.

Actually I was laughing at your poor quality bait, but if you think that white people in France are a different race to the white people in the UK, then I am laughing extensively at your general awareness.

@cptbrainless
Yet you resorted to racism and now respond like that.
Your response needs editing.
It is full of errors.
You missed a comma, a hyphen, and you used an incorrect/incompatible tense.
I know a really good Pakistani writing instructor who could help you improve your proficiency.

Re: French Expat MATTHEW CLAVIES Gets Robbed by GSM Bar Girl in Phnom Penh
Thank you CEO for making my day!! This tall french guy happens to be my future husband and I’m so sorry that he was the one to take a picture with the cops…
I’m the one who found the girl in our kitchen as we were about to have breakfast, she was trying to sneak out after breaking into the apartment a few minutes earlier. The door was open as usual in the morning as we try to bring fresh air in the dining room. She walked pass the gate of the house and went to our flat upstairs. She entered the first open bedroom she saw and took a wallet that was on a wardrobe.
We were surprised and scared to see this girl in the flat, so we brought her downstairs to check with the owners the situation. As she obviously broke in their property they called the police.
However I must admit that I now have a good story to share for our wedding next year
Cambodia Expats Online Don't you ever check the facts before publishing a story?! This is not what happened at all (see Pierre-Louis' comment for the real story). And you call yourself a news site? As for all the people in the comments happy to draw conclusions, I hope this girl steals your wallets soon.
Well, since Cambodia Expats Online can't tell the true story, here is what really happened. I know this guy very well. He woke up randomly like every day to go to work NEXT TO HIS GIRLFRIEND, and arrived in the living room where he saw the girl that sneaked into the house, he asked her what she was doing here, and said that she was looking for a Andy that lost his passport (bullshit story to escape), they decided with his girlfriend to bring her to their landlord downstair (who is a judge), and then saw in her bag the wallet of their roomate (they are 3 in the flat), saw the landlord called the police and after she could say whatever she wants, Here is the photo that prove that he was with his girlfriend. Before saying everything and stupid things that can touch the reputation of a man because of fake news is not very fair, thanks for your comprehension.
Cambodia Expats Online you should be ashamed bullshitting around publishing some fake news and obviously a twisted version of what really happened there.
I know them really well and your version of the story is completely wrong! Pull yourself together man this is not your job harming people’s reputation with fake news
