French still pushing on Vallier case
Three years after French citizen Laurent Vallier and his four children were found dead in a car sunk in a pond behind their home in Kampong Speu province, French authorities yesterday said investigations are continuing, and narrowing.
In a statement released by the French Embassy, investigating judge Claudine Enfoux and her team pointed to the next focus of their probe.
“As the murders are now formally recognised, the investigation will now focus on a few individuals whose testimony have highlighted contradictions,” the release said.

French Murder Investigators Recover Knife
French investigators probing the 2012 murder of Frenchman Laurent Vallier and his four children have wrapped up their latest field visit to Cambodia and left with a recovered knife and DNA samples from his deceased wife’s Cambodian relatives that they will spend the coming months analyzing, police said on Tuesday.
Four months after they went missing, the bodies of Laurent Vallier, 42, and his children were found in January 2012 inside a Land Cruiser submerged in a pond near their home in Kompong Speu province.
Cambodian police quickly ruled the case a murder-suicide, despite the fact that the Frenchman’s head was found in a suitcase in the back of the vehicle. But Laurent Vallier’s relatives in France suggested foul play, pointing to a land dispute with his Cambodian in-laws, and the case was reopened after French investigators conducted a forensic examination and ruled out suicide.

Laurent Vallier case remains open
October 31, 2018
Kampong Speu Provincial Court said the case of Frenchman Laurent Vallier is still being investigated.
The 42-year-old father was found dead along with his children inside his car submerged at the bottom of a pond behind their home in 2012.
“We did not close the investigation on Mr Vallier’s case yet, we are still investigating it,” said provincial court Judge Chhim Ritthy. “We do not yet have strong evidence to identify a suspect.”
Mr Vallier’s relatives in France suggested foul play, noting a land dispute Mr Vallier had with his Cambodian in-laws. Mr Vallier’s in-laws denied the accusation.
The case was reopened in 2015 following a request by French authorities, prompting the court to summon three of Mr Vallier’s Cambodian in-laws.
“Questioning them did not yield any evidence confirming that Mr Vallier’s in-laws were involved in the case,” Judge Ritthy said. “Now it depends on the French side who are also investigating this case.”

Cambodian Justice kinda works OK unless it involves someone politically connected. Hope the French can prod the boys in blue into doing real police work.CEOCambodiaNews wrote:“Questioning them did not yield any evidence confirming that Mr Vallier’s in-laws were involved in the case,” Judge Ritthy said. “Now it depends on the French side who are also investigating this case.”

You left out the MONEY, land and jealousy words.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
