Former CTN host (Sasa) attacked by Cambodian Tycoon

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

And I figure Sasa and her family now need to lay low and worry about retaliation.

Apparently it was on TV this morning, HE is not happy and has threatened to jail this guy for 5 years.

It might be a good idea for this lady to lie low, no witness, no court case/compensation.

Interesting. That's good to hear.

Yes, her, and her family, pretty much forever. This is Cambodia, and things aren't forgotten.

I hear he is offering the oknha version of a mea culpa - saying that he was drunk, and that she said some bad things to him, and she threw her phone at him, and that he didn't know who she was.

As if drunk is an excuse to beat women, and it's okay to beat up a woman if she is rude to you, and it would have been okay to beat her had she been some lesser known woman.

------

Right now, I would not want to be her, or related to her, or the club security guy that tried to protect her, or the guy that leaked the tape, or the owner of that club, or anybody even remotely connected to making this $500M Khmer all this trouble.

I think those days are changing. The walls have eyes now. The advent of the internet and social media have changed how these things work. If something were to happen to her or her family, everyone would know who was behind it. I'm not saying it's all rgood, but things have changed since the last election. Somewhat...
