10 Foreigners @ Queenco Casino SHV Detained (No Work Permit)

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Definitely still the employers responsibility to provide it, but the workers onus to have it. We're the employer in this case so a little different perhaps. Lucky Lucky clearly had an option for workers to pay for their own WP.

An American guy I worked with got his within 4 weeks.

Some people who applied in January are still waiting, and no one I know has ever got a receipt for back pay.

In the last few days I've seen the new-luxury immigration van cruising up and down Echreach street. I wonder what country bought that for them?

It's only the old K440 people who give a flying fuck about the links. Find your own links if you care so much about Khmer script that you can't even read.
Well, no offense intended, but the majority of members here, including yourself, are "old K440 people." Are you saying that the suggestions and requests of posters who used to post on Khmer440 are worth less than the minority of posters who never posted on Khmer440?

I don't understand why you don't just identify the source of content taken from other websites. It's common courtesy both to the original source and to your readers. Some readers do read Khmer, or are trying to learn Khmer, or otherwise would like to know the source of news and photos about issues of interest to foreigners in Cambodia.
also a link makes it a legit post.
and as Gav says 75% or more of ur active posters are on or from K440

More likely, if you have a 30 day tourist visa which expired on 20 Mar, and clearly written on the bottom line of the visa it states 'Employment Not Permitted', then you should have thought about moving on a couple of months ago.

I'm guessing here, but I would think a casino could afford a work permit and/or visa, so it's possible that this guy was 1) getting paid dirt and 2) his tight-fisted employer was dodging his responsibility. Surely they should also nail the employer?

I very much doubt these guys were working at the casino.

So whether link or not. There really is no point reporting any of these news stories as the journalism is so bad.
