2 Foreigners Dress Up as Monks at Ta Prohm Temple, Siem Reap

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Ever tried setting foot into a local market ?
Can also steal them off the clothes-lines at a pagoda ; always seems to be a lot of washing out to dry . :dragonchase:
(Just light a bit of incense and leave $5 and you're sweet.)

15 years ago I learned and practiced my khmer in the local markets (90% women and all vocabulary on display was a sure bet ). Nowadays I shouldn't blame you as I seldom set foot there myself (too hot being the main reason)
A few month back I did an experiment with my wife of buying some pre-chosen articles for our kids. I bargained as much as I could but ended paying way more than she did... So Since then I stick to air con supermarkets

Good that she used to get it cheaper than you. In my experience with girlfriends I always find out I can get things cheaper than the price they pay. I always wonder why and put it down to my good looks , and nothing to do with getting ripped off by my loved one. :stir:

My ex-wife (Vietnamese) forbade me going to the market with her. Prices stated were hugely inflated and when she asked why the answer inevitably was "your boyfriend is paying".....

Wearing robes or table cloths & passing ur self off as a monk are entirely different!
WTF is the problem? If that was all this country had to worry over it would be nice.

I am not religious but respect people that are. I believe that in many countries passing yourself off as a person of the cloth is a crime.
