Frank, or anybody - do you know if local vegetable growers, and other primary producers, have benefited from the boom in Sihanoukville?
Or is fresh food still mostly imported from Thailand, Vietnam and Phnom Penh ??

Someone's Bentley is in need of a service.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

As a betting man, unlike GM (lol), I put money on it having something to do with recent visits to China and Vietnam.

That's fantastic, I can now get back to selling orange juice on the side of the street.

In short - there is no capital inflow from this - is a merry go round that only supports people who make others lives a misery.
Take heart - it will not be difficult to replace this with something beneficial.

Re: Foreigners in Cambodia Allowed to Work Freely
yeah yeah
but it got me thinking about local real vegie growers
has there been any benefit to them from supplying all the chinese restaurants, noodle bars and casino buffet tables?
is Sihanoukville ringed by horticultural holdings to supply them?
or is fresh produce mostly coming from outside?
I am just trying to get a picture of any beneficial flow-on effects from this gambling boom - apart from dodgy low level jobs and payoffs to the rich and powerful.
