A Foreigner Seen Laying Out Unconsciously On The Sidewalk

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Wow, that was close, we got away with no 'caused a surprise' clause!

Looking at the top of his head, it's obviously Playboy.

Maybe he swallowed some water by accident.

Agree or not that our police seems to pay more attention and treat foreigner and expats much better than local ?

When I was lying close to unconsciousness in the middle of the busy Monivong/MTT intersection after an unplated SUV ran the lights and ran me down, the police on two corners could not have cared less.

Sorry to hear that people didnt care about you. I just thought that if it was a local guy found laying out on the sidewalk like this, police probably wouldn't call ambulance, maybe just applied some tiger balm to the guy.

Found a passed-out Barang a couple of years ago. This was around 5 am on Charles de Gaulle with hundreds of cars heading for sunrise at Angkor Wat and Gendarmerie stationed 20 meters away on either side. Not one person helped. (After I organized an ambulance and got him sorted out at the hospital, he just disappeared without so much as a "thank you"
but that is another story.)

How many local guys have health insurance or any other realistic way of paying large hospital bills? I think it's more the fact that westerners are more likely to pay the bills.
