A foreigner had his iphone snatched at st 51

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

@ little salary, i think we might have to go and say sorry to almost every expats and tourists here. I reckon at 5 among 10 of them once or twice experienced with snatching and garbing, burglary, robbing and pick pocketing. Sad.

Did you cry, GM?

I never lose my phone because it look too old. :p
Honestly, I laughed! I don't get too upset when bad things happen.
Maybe you laughed because it was beyond believe ? However, sorry to hear it.
Yep. The experience was very entertaining.

You guys can't be responsible for everyone.

People can and should install tracking and security Apps on their phones though.

I don't understand why the manufacturer can't block stolen phones.

We just want to show our concern for them as they come to visit our country and i am sure they didn't expect such bad things to happen.

The level of petty crime here seems low in comparison with places in southern Europe e.g. Barcelona. I would be far more wary of getting robbed there than in Cambodia.

Exactly. I don't think it should even be reported as a crime if you get robbed at 4am on a Tuesday, stumbling out of Golden Sorya Mall.

Is there a day down by the GSM where this doesn't happen ?
Yeah, why is this newsworthy?. The same thing probably happened at the same time at twelve other location in a twelve kilometer radius...
