Foreigner Got her Phone Back and Snatcher Sent to Court
A phone snatcher arrested after he snatched a phone from Australian tourist who was sitting on a bench along the riverside
Phnom Penh: According to Kampuchea Thmey Daily News, police arrested a phone snatcher at Daun Penh district around 7:30 apm on 04 October 2015 at the park along the riverside on street 148 corner of Sisowat Quay, Phsar Kandal I commune, Daun Penh District.
Police said, the suspect name Doung Vuthy, male, 18 years old, address and occupation (unspecified). Police confiscated a Blue Iphone C and later was returned back to the owner.
The victim name Asher Gallon, Australian, 22 years old and tourist. She stays at SAME SAME GUEST HOUSE on street 130, Phsar Kandal I, Daun Penh district.
Police said, according village, commune and district safety policy, police are sent to patrol in some certain areas in order to make sure that tourists and locals are safe. At that time, the victim was sitting on a bench at riverside then the suspect went closer and snatched the phone and run away. The victim screamed which reached the patrolling police and led to the arrest of the suspect.

Maybe they can get rid of the Filipino scammers while they are at it. Seem to be more and more glue-sniffers hanging out there lately.
My 15yo niece got relieved of her Samsung phone at knife-point 3 nights ago, as she went from a shop to her mum's place near Psar Chas.
