The guy in the picture is from Pakistan? This is shocking, as he comes from a society which places so much respect on females and their well-being and equalness to men.

Based on his beard, he looks Muslim, so maybe he was just practicing "Mut’a. "

Charges should be dropped immediately based on religious freedom, and we should all respect the Religion of Peace.

Remember folks, if your book tells you how to treat your SLAVES, it might not be the best doctrine for moral guidance:

"Do not compel your slave girls to prostitution if they desire chastity, seeking thereby the interests of worldly life. If someone should compel them, then Allah is forgiving and merciful to them after their compulsion."

Seriously guys, do the right thing and treat your slaves well.

I'm a bit surprised by this. Not that Pakistani men would traffic Khmer girls, but AFAIK it is fairly difficult for Pakistanis to get a visa for Cambodia - no evisa or VOA possible, and I think they need a letter from someone in Cambodia, and can not cross land borders.
So, why Cambodia ? It seems like a lot of hassle, expense and it's a long way to come "just" to traffic a couple of girls. Not belittling the effects of trafficking, but it doesn't seem to make financial sense. Unless, they were planning to load them with drugs and send them back to Cambodia as mules or something like that ?

Sorry guys for not being able to respond to questions earlier.

The visa process at the Cambodian embassy in Bangkok is pretty simple. They ask for a letter from a company or any organization that has invited you to Cambodia, proof of stay and I believe $25 visa fee.

Now when I got to the airport, the immigration officers asked me to step aside since I had a Pakistani passport. They asked me why am I visiting Cambodia and who am I going to see. Be prepared to answer these questions. They photocopied my documents. It felt weird since I was the only one they asked to step aside.

As for crossing border through land, it is prohibited for Pakistanis and Bangladeshi nationals. You'll probably have to bribe the immigration officer to let you pass. If you're female, you can get by with pleading them and making excuses that you didn't know but its not worth the risk.

Based on that post, they can get in through airports, but not enter through land border crossings, if I'm reading that right.

Nice find.

the reports have been translated better by joon on the other forum and its claimed that the people 3women and 1male, likely to be a family, are being trafficked back to pakistan in order to work, and that they were in the process of forging passports etc only 1 of the girls was underage apparently

Still doesn't make sense to me. Why come all the way to Cambodia to find slaves when there are plenty of poor Pakistanis or Afghan orphans that you can exploit closer to home ?

I didn't see much more helpful info in Joon's post (no offense to her), and I'll say one thing: if the two names have been translated correctly, there are 2 middle eastern men involved, as AHMED is most definitely the name of MEN not women.

I guess it's possible a Cambodian Muslim man has one of these names, as I believe it's common for Muslim men from any background should choose a good Muslim name.

A lot more needs to be made clear before we get anywhere with this story.

Unique story either way.
