Foreign National Runs at and off of Police Station
Foreign National Runs at and off of Police Station
A Foreign National Runs up onto Posenchey Police Station and Throws Himself Off: for No Apparent Reason
A foreigner suffered head injuries and had blood flowing freely from a head wound after he ran by his own volition up on to the Khan Posenchey police inspectorate building and then threw himself off (of the building) two times, startling the local population and authorities at 5:25pm in the afternoon of 4th of December 2014.
People living in the vicinity of this event informed that just before the difficulties arose they saw a foreigner riding a tuk-tuk from the direction of the west coming east. When the tuk-tuk arrived outside Pochentong market the foreigner got out of the tuk-tuk, took his 2 clothes bags, crossed over the road coming back towards the Khan Posenchey police inspectorate (building) then climbed up to the 1st floor (looking at the photo it's an external staircase) and threw himself off: for unknown reasons.
A local source of information informed that when the foreigner threw himself off of the 1st floor a Posenchey policeman came rushing to help break the fall, but he was unable to and he (the policeman) sustained injuries to his face. But the foreigner didn't agree to stop his energetic activity, and he got up, ran back to the 1st floor and threw himself off once again.
A Posenchey policeman informed that in this case (the foreigner) caused a nose bleed and a broken lip in the person who ran forth to break the fall. As for the foreigner he got a serious head injury, but if 2 or 3 people hadn't rushed forth to hold back the foreigner from running back up to the 1st floor he would have certainly injured himself even more.
A Khan Posenchey policeman informed that after these startling events they sent the foreign victim in a Posenchey police car to the immigration department for them to conduct an interview. The authorities inform that the victim is called 'Lee Jun', aged 31, Chinese national and he had just arrived on an international flight at Phnom Penh international airport.

I'm still years away from being a porky pig(or even as fluent of Elekid), but alongside my other translations it's good for me to try other literary genres and this news story caught my attention and by posting it here it means I don't just stop reading halfway)
----
One thing that caught my attention whilst translating...it took them a long time compared to usual to state 'the foreigner's' nationality. It's normally reported far earlier in most reports...Can't conclude anything from that until I've translated more news, but the last 3 or 4 foreigner crimes/events on the police.gov.kh website I've read got to the point that the foreigner was an American, Malaysian, Korean in the title or 1st or 2nd paragraph.

Re: Foreign National Runs at and off of Police Station
So he got off the plane, took a tuktuk to the police station and tried to commit suicide by jumping off the building ? Twice??The authorities inform that the victim is called 'Lee Jun', aged 31, Chinese national and he had just arrived on an international flight at Phnom Penh international airport.
WTF.
I would have jumped to the conclusion that he had partaken of the same drug that got the foreigners running round naked, but doesn't sound like he even had time to get smashed...
Re: Foreign National Runs at and off of Police Station
And why choose a police station? He must have asked the tuk-tuk driver to have taken him to one, or seen it and ordered the tuk-tuk to stop. (Or though the 2nd scenario is unlikely, Cambodian police stations are not that visible: no police cars or motorbikes parked outside and signage wouldn't be universally recognizable. This is the police station in question: https://www.google.com.kh/maps/@11.5627 ... !2e0?hl=en)
He gets off of an international flight from China and goes straight to a police station to throw himself of the first floor (high but not that high)...was he looking for asylum of some sort? Or was he just crazy? Or on drugs? Or was he thrown?
Where's detective vladimir when you need him?

Maybe he flew with china eastern/southern air. That's enough to warrant this kind of behaviour.

Maybe police stations in China don't have stairs

Just when you think you have seen it all...

Told a friend about this news story: his instant reply was that it's a cover-up for police brutality.
...Looking at the photo, is the guy handcuffed behind his back?
We'll never know.
