Female Tourist at Beach Club Report in Sihanoukville Gets iPhone 6, Jewelry and Cash Stolen, Then Returned

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

That was really rare over a year ago. Commonplace now, especially in Sihanoukville (which is like shooting fish in a barrel, if we're honest).

And not just Sihanoukville, there have been at least 3 foreigners arrested the last few months for simply having too much weed on them or their property.

I will be in Sihanoukville next week. If I happen to be chosen for one of these random stops as I'm out and about ,would a photo copy of my evisa satisfy them do you think?
I could be wrong, but I think the overstays have been picked up either for behaving stupidly ( over-stoned and embarrassing), or their guesthouse/place of residence turned them in for lack of funds.
The weed was on business premises and who knows what they got wrong. And this has been in Kampot not SV I think.
Don't panic.

What an insightful remark more than 2 years after the original post. You need to work on your comebacks  .
