Today, November 26, 2014 in response to the Facebook guidelines and under articles L.111, 112 and 113 of the code of intellectual property, I declare that my rights are attached to all my personal data, drawings, paintings, photos, texts etc... published on my profile.
For any commercial use my written consent is required at all times. It is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, broadcast, or to take any other action against me on the basis of this profile and/or its contents. The actions mentioned above apply equally to employees, students, agents and/or other staff under the direction of Facebook. The contents of my profile includes private information. The violation of my privacy is punished by the law (UCC 1 1-308 - 308 1 - 103 and the Rome Statute).

by using FB you agree to the terms of service. claiming you do not doesn't exclude you from the contract of accepting said terms or service by your continued use. that's not how law works.

I think he's donated over $1,000,000,000 (a billion, yes) of his fortune to various charities and do believe he is onboard with Warren Buffet's goal of trying to get the world's Billionaires to give away 99% of their net worth when they pass away, as even that 1% left is "enough" to leave to family/friends.

I like Facebook and have been using it since it REQUIRED a .edu Email addy to sign up. Living half way across the world, it is a great tool to communicate with friends and family back home. I don't see a problem with Facebook or Mark Zuckerberg.

I don't know really facebook, but I think its technically really shit.

the only good thing, that you can sort of control the level of privacy (public, friends, only you...)
think, this is enough to protect whatever you want to protect there..

Don't like their policy don't use their services.

In support of facebook they also make their privacy policy and user agreements easy to access. Not hidden away like what a lot of sites do.

I don't have a Facebook account but saw this and thought it may interest some folks.

25/11/2014 - Facebook users all incompetent?

Facebook is trying everything it can to delay the largest European privacy class action ever filed (http://www.fbclaim.com). In this attempt, Facebook came up with countless arguments to delay the lawsuit filed at an Austrian court this August. It seems more than questionable whether the IT giant’s attempt at delaying will be successful, given the arguments presented.

Facebook is e.g. contesting that it’s users have the legal competence to assign their claims and thereby join the class action. In plain English: Facebook claims that it’s users have become younger or insane sometime after they have joined the social network – there is no other way how the users have lost their legal competence after they have previously agreed to the terms and privacy policy of Facebook when joining. Other claims by Facebook include, that only the Irish Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) may address wrongdoings by the company and that it is immune from the ordinary courts. This of course ignored the fact that executive government oversights (as done by the DPC), has nothing to do with a lawsuit before a court. Many other arguments were presented by Facebook, but Facebook did not agree to the publication of the submission. Details in the PDF below.

The arguments presented are in essence without merit or already rebutted in the lawsuit itself, but the submissions by Facebook seem to be part of an expected delay tactic. The court in Vienna will have to assess the submissions by both parties and will set a data for the first oral hearings. So for a more than 25,000 users from more than 100 countries have assigned their claims for the class action and another 50,000 users have registered to join.

03/10/2014 - Facebook get's an English "Second Serving"
After Facebook Ireland has argued that it does not speak German we have send the court a certified translation of the lawsuit. Unfortunately it was not possible to quickly find an Austrian court certified translator for Gaeilge, which would have been our first choice for a translation, so we had to stick to English.

The positive side effect of Facebook’s delay tactics and the shortage of Gaeilge translators in Vienna: We are happy to now also provide English speakers with a full translation (PDF) of the original lawsuit.

The "second serving" will be done by the Viennese court within the next days.
