Cambodia Breaking News(Kampot): According to preliminary reports, a guesthouse owner reported to the provincial police that a foreign man was found dead in his rented room at 7:10 am on September 30, 2019 in the village Sovan Sakor, Sangkat Kampong Kandal, Kampot City.

The guesthouse staff were shocked to find that their guest was dead and immediately informed the authorities. After receiving the above information, military police arrived at the scene and conducted an examination.
The victim has been identified as ROBERT COX, a 38-year-old United States national from California. The authorities revealed that the victim had died of a heart attack, according to the postmortem examination conducted at the residence.

Currently, the body of the deceased man has been handed over to the embassy waiting for them to contact his family. RIP.

Did that post mortem include a blood test check for fentanyl? Likely culprit.

Died of a heart attack, according to the postmortem examination conducted at the residence?!?

The coroners office must have some pretty state-of-the-art necropsy gear in order to be able to conduct an examination on the floor of the decedent's living room.

I can picture the scene...

...a mix of about a half dozen random and semi-relevant Khmer dudes standing around staring, sucking on their teeth and taking copious photos for Facebook. The HNIC shows up and with a deep sigh, starts complaining about how his KTV mistress is starting to be a pain in the ass....whilst he disdainfully waves his underling off to commence negotiations with the guesthouse owner on the body removal bribe price.....he then takes a dismissive scan of the room and body and declares..."heart attack"....

....and with that they head off to the corner cafe for some coffee and khuy tieu.

This, plus the advanced scheme used for examination:

1. Check pulse
a. Negative: cause of death: heart failure
b. Positive: call Calmette for further details

etc.
