Englishman MARK SMITH (Golden Bridge International School Vice Principal) Arrested in Cambodia for Child Sex Crimes

You're right, you definitely care more about this than I do. Do your investigating and get back to us with your conclusive results. For now I am done commenting as you turn everything into absolutes and I honestly don't care enough to have an internet argument about it.Cam Nivag wrote:You think the wacky FB lady fabricated the whole thing? You think the police didn't interview the girl, i.e. the alleged victim, before arresting and charging him? Once they talk to the girl, the FB lady has nothing to do with it.

How do I turn everything into absolutes? You said he sat in jail “simply based on some fb radio lady.” My point is that it’s not so absolute— the police actually interviewed the girl, her parents, Smith, etc.

Phnom Penh Municipal Court sentenced a British man to two years in prison for sexually abusing a five-year-old girl but suspended his entire sentence.
According to a statement by Action Pour Les Enfants today, the municipal court on Tuesday sentenced Mark Andrew Smith, 40, to two years in prison for committing indecent assault with aggravating circumstances.
However, his entire sentence was suspended and the court ordered Mr Smith to pay a fine of about $1,250.
Mr Smith, a UK national and former deputy principal of Golden Bridge International School in Phnom Penh, was arrested in July last year as he was leaving the school.
The Interior Ministry’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Department arrested Mr Smith on suspicion of sexually abusing a five-year-old girl who studied at the school where he was working.
The alleged sexual abuse was not reported until a local radio station discussed the concerns of parents on a live programme. APLE was asked to respond right after the broadcast.
Samleang Seila, APLE executive director, said after the verdict that it was a grave concern to observe the growing incidence of child sexual abuse in private schools, orphanages and child-welfare organisations over the last few years.
“The situation is alarming and effective measures must be put in place to stop the problem,” he said.

Wow, so now Mark Andrew Smith is a convicted child sex offender. That probably ends your teaching career pretty quickly.
He's a free man now. I wonder what his game plan is now.

A totally suspended sentence is the Cambodian version of Not Guilty

That may be the case but anyone who googles his name anywhere in the world won’t see it that way.Paddyzola wrote:A totally suspended sentence is the Cambodian version of Not Guilty
The General is right, he won’t be teaching anyone anytime soon.

Obviously they know he did it so found him guilty BUT he paid someone off

But he's been free for months already according to Pieman.

According to PIEMAN he's been free for a while, and the article doesn't mention him being present at the court proceedings.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 8:38 pm
