So just to add to his already enormous problems as of today he doesn't even have a valid passport?
I have dual nationality with two passports one of them British. I just checked my passport and it clearly shows the date of expiry as being firstly date of the month then the month then the year. ( As one would expect with a British national )
So your suggestion is rubbish.
And you need to learn months of the year because according to your " theory " his passport would have expired after the 13th month of the year?
I think it's you that deserves the DUH !!!!

I see, but I have a doubt how long he stays in Cambodia? Must be something wrong ...General Mackevili wrote:Passports are still valid until the actual expiration date, but maybe countries refuse you entry if your passport is valid for less than 6 months.prahkeitouj wrote:Normally our passport is invalid if it is less than 6months. I assume they do this just to avoid any hassles with you if your passport happens to expire while you're there.

Re: 2 English Guys Arrested in Siem Reap on Drug Charges
A little update:just have called a friend in Siem Reap (guest house owner).......... the 2 persons were NOT arrested at the same time and place......the newspapers insofar are wrong. One of them has been arrested at Pub Street, smoking marihuana in public which lead to the arrest of his friend at the "Angkor Wonder Guest House". Anyway....all reports re. this case appear to be a bit fishy. Apparently these were just 2 backpackers who have met each other somewhere on the way and one of them was at the wrong place at the wrong time with a good chance that he was set up by a local motodop (police).

Yikes! I hate hearing these stories of random setups.
Are they friends with Lance Whitmore?

Ahh. So the the property confiscated, viz, "dried marijuana 2 and a half pouches, with a weight equal to 17.4 grams, 1 small packet of white powder, one stone plate, and one camera", were all legitimate?Francis wrote:No idea.......but I forgot the most important thing (like always).........they WERE NOT dealing with any illegal substances !!!!!
Well, that changes everything.
Re: 2 English Guys Arrested in Siem Reap on Drug Charges
I'm going to go out on a limb and surmise that the camera was legitimate. Most likely the "stone plate" too.Username Taken wrote:Ahh. The rest, admittedly, sounds a bit dodgy.
Re: 2 English Guys Arrested in Siem Reap on Drug Charges
Yes baby.....exactly. A camera and a stone plate is not really something that I would call illegal. Re. "white powder"........could be anything......if they (the officials) would know what the white powder actually is, they surely would have published it.......but they have no clue. All what remains is the little amount of marihuana apparently bought for self consumption. And don't get me wrong....marihuana is and stays marihuana......one of the most stupid drugs on the face of this planet, and one shouldn't get involved with it. But that was a set up.Username Taken wrote:

Just another story of greedy/corrupt police and travelers that were not do smart. Every travel book on Cambodia should have a whole section on corrupt police, dealing with them and how to stay smart and out of jail. I've already alerted the US Embassy in PP about the corrupt police in Snooky for their warnings to traveler section.
