Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): On May 18, 2023, the Phnom Penh Municipal Police sent an elderly Chinese man to the Phnom Penh Municipal Prosecutor's Office for questioning in connection with a case of the manufacture and trafficking of illegal drugs. The accused was arrested in possession of nearly 100 kilograms of chemical drugs and related products, and was taken into custody on May 14, 2023, at a house in Khan Por Senchey in Phnom Penh city


Phnom Penh police said that the suspect has been identified as a Chinese national, ZHOU GUO CHAO, a 60 year old man. After the arrest, the police confiscated 100 kgs of processed drugs, and also chemicals used for drug manufacture, from the above address:
- methamphetamine ICE weighing 4 kg .684 g.
- acetone weighing 3 kg.
- Ethanol) weighs 40 kg.
- unidentified chemicals weight 53 kg, 428 g.
- 5 small and large scales and some equipment for packaging and processing drugs.

The suspect is currently being held in detention and questioned at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
